Every year, Shopware releases a new major version – and today is the day: Shopware 6.7.0.0 is now available. In this post, you'll learn about the most important updates in this release, what's new in Shopware 6.7, and when it’s the right time for you to upgrade.
A quick recap: How we got to 6.7
In January, we published our first blog post about the major release to keep all merchants and developers informed early on.
In early February, we released a video summarizing key highlights.

Based on this feedback, we fixed bugs and made further optimizations to deliver a stable, high-performance major version.
What's new in Shopware 6.7?
Overall, the new major release brings improvements in performance, accessibility, and developer experience. Major versions don’t focus on new features. Instead, they provide the technical foundation for features that will be introduced in upcoming minor releases. Here's a more detailed look at what's new in Shopware 6.7:
1. Accessibility Updates (EAA-Compliant)
With the new major release, we have made significant improvements in accessibility to meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA). This includes optimized templates, adjusted font sizes, and the use of semantic HTML. For more specific examples of these improvements, check out this blog post: Shopware storefront adjustments for digital accessibility.

Note: Some accessibility updates were already introduced in Shopware 6.6 but were hidden behind a feature flag. Starting with 6.7, these updates are enabled by default. The deadline for enforcing the EAA is June 28, 2025. Merchants who do not immediately upgrade to 6.7 can still benefit from the backported accessibility updates in 6.6.

2. Migration from Webpack to Vite
To future-proof the Shopware administration, we are moving from Webpack to Vite. Admin plugins must be adapted to support both 6.6 and 6.7 separately.
3. Vue.js improvements
Shopware 6.7 is now fully compatible with Vue 3. We have also migrated the state management from Vuex to Pinia, resulting in a leaner and more efficient architecture.
4. Cache rework
An optimized caching system ensures that cache invalidations are performed with a delay, reducing storage requirements while increasing cache hit rates. The focus is on caching frequently accessed data and minimizing cache invalidations.
5. Library updates
To ensure long-term support and access to new features, we have updated key libraries, including:
PHPUnit (v11)
League OAuth2 Server
DomPDF
DBAL to version 4.0
6. Benefits for merchants
The new version provides merchants with several benefits, including enhanced security and stability, easier theme customization, improved compatibility, and future-proofing. Additionally, merchants can expect better performance and a more refined customer experience.
Will there be new features?
The first new features will be released throughout the year in minor versions. Until then, it's worth taking a look at some of our existing key features, such as:

When should you upgrade to 6.7?
We covered this question extensively in the blog post "Major 6.7 – when and why to upgrade?". In summary, upgrading to 6.7 is especially beneficial if:
Security updates and new features are relevant to you.
You are using extensions that are compatible with 6.7.
Accessibility according to the EAA plays a role in your shop.
You don't want to miss upcoming feature releases.
You want to be prepared for the next major version in the long run.
What happens to Shopware 6.6?
With the release of Shopware 6.7, version 6.6 moves into extended support. This means security updates will continue to be provided, but no new features will be added. Merchants planning for the long term are encouraged to upgrade to 6.7 to take full advantage of future developments.
You can find a detailed overview of the extended support timetable here. More about our release policy can be found in this blog post: Shopware's new Release Policy.
