Feature Focus: Introducing Shopware’s brand-new Copilot

The Shopware Copilot has arrived – unveiled at the Special Event June 2025 and an integral part of the broader Shopware AI strategy. In this post, you’ll learn how the new Copilot can support your daily work, what benefits it brings, and which exciting developments are already in the pipeline. 

What is the purpose of the Shopware Copilot? 

The Shopware Copilot is a chat-based AI assistant built directly into the Shopware Administration. Through an intuitive interface, it answers questions related to Shopware – from features and best practices to configuration guidance and troubleshooting – always tailored to the specific version you’re working with. 

Whether you’re a merchant, Shopware partner, or developer, the Copilot is designed to support your daily tasks by providing fast, contextual access to relevant knowledge and recommendations – right where you work. 

More importantly, the Copilot lays the foundation for highly specialized, autonomous AI agents that will extend its capabilities throughout the year in areas like automation and business intelligence. It marks our first step toward Agentic Commerce. And to shape these next stages as precisely as possible, the Copilot provides us with valuable insights into the real questions and needs of our users.

What are the benefits of the Shopware Copilot?

  • Faster onboarding for new Shopware users – whether you're getting started yourself or training new team members, learning how to use features and workflows becomes much more efficient. 

  • Future-ready and customizable – in upcoming versions, you’ll be able to equip the Copilot with targeted specializations, making it even better suited to your business needs. 

How to use the Shopware Copilot 

The Shopware Copilot is built directly into the Shopware Administration and can be accessed via an intuitive chat interface. You’ll find it in the top right corner of the admin – just click the AI icon with the three sparkles.

Simply type your question into the Copilot – for example: 

  • “How do I add a new product?” 

  • “Where can I edit my return policy?” 

  • “How do I set up discounts?” 

Answers are always tailored to your specific Shopware version and plan. The Copilot can also guide you to relevant documentation or forward you to the right support resources – helping you resolve your issue faster without unnecessary searching. 

Even better: the Copilot stays open while you navigate through the Admin. This allows you to stay focused and continue working exactly where you need support.

  • Included in Shopware Rise, Evolve, and Beyond

How will the Shopware Copilot evolve in the future?

As mentioned earlier, the current Copilot is just the beginning. The initial version focuses on answering Shopware-related questions directly within the Administration – quickly and in context. Its foundation lies in the extensive Shopware knowledge base and natural, chat-based interaction, setting the stage for all future development steps. 

Planned enhancements include capabilities such as: 

  • Querying and analyzing store data using natural language 

  • Autonomously using modules, executing functions, or modifying data 

  • Detecting anomalies and optimization opportunities 

  • Benchmarking and forecasting key performance indicators 

  • Monitoring competitors, trends, and market developments 

  • Proactively generating effective, data-driven recommendations 

These features are key to realizing our overarching vision: to turn the Copilot into an intelligent, autonomous assistant that provides real, everyday value to merchants, partners, and developers alike. 

The next development stage is already planned for fall 2025. At that point, the Copilot will go beyond answering Shopware-related questions and begin helping users interact with their own data – transforming insights into meaningful actions.  

Copilot question examples

Examples include: 

  • Identifying products with unusually high or low demand – and uncovering potential patterns based on seasonality or regional factors. 

  • Analyzing sales and customer data through simple questions like “How are my sales doing this week?” or “How many new customers did we gain this month?” 

The goal is to give you data-driven insights right where you need them – and to help you take faster, more targeted, and more effective action.
